The first Europeans to consume chocolate were members of the Spanish royal family after returning conquistadors brought cacao from the Americas to the Spanish court as a novelty and treasure. Chocolate was a rich, fortifying and spiritual drink for centuries before it went through its evolution into bar form.
This powdered drinking chocolate is in the European tradition—made of rich, ground chocolate (not cocoa powder) that we made with just our award-winning Nicaraguan cacao and organic cane sugar. Three recipes are included so that you can make a European-styled sipping chocolate, a drinking chocolate or an American-styled hot chocolate.
